Meet the team

David Vivian qualified as a dental surgeon in 1988 from the Newcastle University Dental School (GDC No. 63294).

After qualifying, he returned to East Yorkshire to work in a forward-looking practice in Hull.

In 1990, he accepted a partnership at Newell, Pinder and Vivian, which became one of the most prestigious practices in Yorkshire before joining the James Hull Group. David still works at the practice on a part-time basis, providing the implant services he also offers at practices in Cottingham, Scarborough and more recently joining the experienced implant team at Campbell Dental Health in Scunthorpe.

David has over 22 years of experience in dental implants, and he has placed around SIX THOUSAND of them during his career. His key training courses include the prestigious Eastman Step by Step Course 1996-1997 and training on prosthetic aspects of the Branemark system 1993.

Since 1993, David has been a member of the Society for Advancement in Anaesthesia in Dentistry, and he has been a member of the Association of Dental Implantology since 1996. He has always been active within the British Dental Association and is a former president of the Yorkshire Branch.

Emma has been providing dentistry in North Lincolnshire since 2000 and joined Portman in July 2020. She enjoys providing all aspects of general dentistry with a caring, relaxed and respectful manner.

Angelika is a dentist with a special interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, providing a range of general dental care for patients of all ages, with a focus on natural-looking results delivered with precision and care.

She graduated with honours from the Medical University of Lodz.

Since then, Angelika has developed her clinical experience and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Contemporary Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry, alongside further training in aesthetic and restorative treatments.

Angelika offers a range of dental treatments, combining routine oral health care with cosmetic procedures. Her approach focuses on minimally invasive techniques where appropriate, and treatment plans tailored to individual patients and long-term oral health.

Angelika has experience supporting nervous patients and aims to provide a calm, welcoming environment. She takes time to explain treatment options clearly and delivers care at a pace patients are comfortable with.

Angelika has a particular interest in helping patients who feel self-conscious about their smile. Her aim is to achieve natural-looking results tailored to each individual.

Jacob is a friendly and caring dentist who aims to make dental visits as relaxed and comfortable as possible.

Jacob provides a wide range of general dental treatments including routine dental care, emergency appointments, gum disease treatment, dentures, root canal treatment, tooth whitening and crowns.

What Jacob enjoys most about dentistry is getting to know patients and understanding what they want from their dental care. He takes time during appointments to listen and discuss what is important to them.

Jacob qualified from Cardiff University and subsequently completed postgraduate examinations awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons. He has completed postgraduate training in advanced restorative dentistry, maxillofacial surgery, paediatrics and special care dentistry, giving him experience across a range of dental disciplines.

Jacob now lives in Lincolnshire with his wife. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling, motor biking, seeing live music and tinkering with his car.
